MPS have urged Tesco customers to boycott buying chicken until the chain improves welfare conditions.
Last month, shareholders rejected a call from the TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall to upgrade Tesco's minimum rearing conditions to the RSPCA's "Freedom Food" marque.
