Man on guitar theft charge

A MAN has been charged in connection with the theft of a guitar belonging to a Californian rock band appearing at T in the Park.

The instrument belonged to Le Blonde Dames, who were staying in the Capital last week ahead of their performance at the music festival at Balado, near Kinross.

It is alleged the electric guitar was stolen some time between 6.30pm last Friday and 10.30am on Saturday from the Radisson Blu hotel in the High Street.

Police recovered the custom-made guitar, valued at around 2000, after it was offered to a music store in the city's South Clerk Street.

Lothian and Borders Police yesterday said a 29-year-old man had been charged and is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
