Man in court over murder

A MAN has appeared in court in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old who was said to have been assaulted at an address in East Lothian.

Paul Jared Scott died at an address in Toll House Gardens on Monday, February 7.

James Purves, 29, appeared on petition at Haddington Sheriff Court yesterday in connection with his death. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

The Scott family previously released a statement through Lothian and Border Police.

It said: "Paul was adored by all his family and many friends, and we are all heartbroken.

"Our son, we will miss you forever xx."
