Man, 90, jailed for hammer murder

A 90-YEAR-OLD man was yesterday sentenced to 17 and a half years in a US prison for battering his wife of nearly 68 years to death with a hammer.

John Bunz admitted hitting 89-year-old Virginia Bunz about 30 times after the couple argued in Buffalo, New York, in March.
