Developers launch polo field appeal

TWO housebuilders have launched an appeal with the Scottish Government on the city council's decision not to allow it to develop a former army site.

City planners refused Miller Homes and Taylor Wimpey's joint proposal to develop the Dreghorn polo fields in June.

It was the third time that plans for 75 homes have been rejected.

The firms are hoping a Scottish Government reporter will rule in their favour as a government inquiry into the city's local plan last year recommended that housing should be allowed on the site.
