Debt hitting more in city
LESS than a fifth of Edinburgh residents in debt have enough money coming in to settle their deficits, a report has revealed.
The Consumer Credit Counselling Service, which carried out the research, said the 193 people who said they could cope was a drop from last year, further evidence that the recession was far from over for many.
Director Delroy Corinaldi said: "It seems likely that many more families will be increasingly prone to over-indebtedness."
