Crime writers in festive talk

TWO of the biggest names in crime fiction are to meet in Edinburgh as part of celebrations surrounding the 25th anniversary of the city's Christmas tree, which was gifted by Norway as a symbol of the countries' cultural and historical links.

Ian Rankin and his Norwegian counterpart Gunnar Staalesen will meet to discuss their creations - Detective Inspector John Rebus and Varg Veum.

The event will be held on Friday, November 26, at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on the Royal Mile.
