Chelsea Pensioners to storm charts

A GROUP of Chelsea Pensioners whose average age is 79 could be an unlikely chart success after landing a record deal.

The retired military men will be shifting their battleground to the album chart when the seven-strong group releases its debut in November. Between them, the pensioners have clocked up more than 20 medals for their service careers, plus one MBE, and have seen service in the Second World War, Palestine and Northern Ireland.

Their album, Men In Scarlet, features a performance with Janey Cutler - the 81-year-old Britain's Got Talent finalist from Wishaw.
