FORMER Ryder Cup Captain Bernard Gallacher remained in a “critical condition” in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary today after suffering a suspected heart attack.

Mr Gallacher, 64, was admitted to the North east’s main acute hospital on Thursday night after collapsing at the luxury Marcliffe Hotel on the outskirts of the city.

In the latest update on the condition of the Scottish golfing legend, a spokeswoman for NHS Grampian said this morning “Mr Gallacher remains in a critical condition at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”

An update is expected later this afternoon.
