All smiles at dental unit

A DENTAL unit costing £170,000 has opened at the city's psychiatric hospital.

It replaces the old facility at the Royal Edinburgh in Morningside and will specialise in treating those with learning disabilities and mental health challenges linked to old age.

Gill Watson, from NHS Lothian's primary care dental service, said: "We relocated the surgery and we now have a bright, modern surgery with a decontamination room, waiting area and toilet for patients."
