Abseilers drop everything to boost charity

A CHARITY abseil from the roof of a shopping centre has raised £7,000 for people with cancer.

Around 60 brave volunteers went along to The Centre in Livingston on Saturday to take the 70ft plunge for West Lothian's Bosom Buds of Scotland.

Marketing manager at The Centre, Jennifer Bruce, said: "Our charity abseil was a fantastic success, with a great deal of interest coming from our visitors and the local community. We managed to raise a great sum of money for Bosom Buds and everyone who attended and took part had a fantastic time."

Mags Parsons-Fenwick, chairwoman of Bosom Buds of Scotland, added: "It was great to see so many people come out and help the charity. I am delighted and humbled by the amount of support."

The charity was set up in November last year in aid of people in West Lothian receiving treatment for cancer at St John's Hospital.
