JK honoured for £10m MS gift

AUTHOR JK Rowling was given a benefactor’s award ny the University of Edinburgh yesterday for her £10 million donation to fund research into multiple sclerosis.

The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic has been founded in memory of the Harry Potter author’s mother, who suffered from MS. Yesterday’s presentation was the first official engagement of Princess Anne who was formerly installed as the Chancellor of the University.

Students used the occasion to protest about recent rises in tuition fees.
