John Lewis at home with smaller stores

JOHN Lewis yesterday fleshed out expansion plans by saying it aims to double its number of stores over the next five years as it continues to roll out its smaller "At Home" branches.

Following the success of a trial store at Poole, in Dorset, a second At Home will open in Croyon this week. Further stores are planned at Swindon and Tunbridge Wells this autumn.

Head of format development Tim Harrison said up to six stores could open next year.
