How to invest with impact, innovate and meet net zero targets
The annual event will explore the theme of “Investing with Impact: Innovating Across Scotland” and will look at integrating impact investing into corporate strategies and ways to build innovative strategies to tackle the net zero challenge, among other topics.
The first panel discussion of the day has now been announced and will be chaired by editorial director of Insider Media Miri Thomas.
It will explore ways in which to transform communities so that people can thrive, and facilitate rural and urban regeneration through investments, infrastructure and cooperation with local communities.
Thomas will be joined by CEO of Lothian Broadband Network Gavin Rodgers, Group Chairman of Highland Coast Hotels David Whiteford OBE, founder of Homes for Good Susan Aktemel, and CEO of Big Society Capital Stephen Muers. Nicola Douglas, executive director of Innovation at the Bank, will later chair a fireside chat with Nova Innovation CEO Simon Forrest, Orbex CEO Phil Chambers and Clare Wareing, CEO of Cumulus Oncology.
They will discuss funding innovative models in business to drive productivity, and evolving businesses to meet the challenges of a fast changing world.
Miri Thomas will return to chair a Pathways Forward panel discussion to look at where the programme is one year on, alongside the Pathways Forward chair Ana Stewart.
The discussions will follow a keynote speech from globally-renowned futurist, author and speaker Anne Lise Kjaer, who will encourage everyone to think beyond the day-to-day and focus on the long-term and the meaningful legacies that can be created.
