End of the line for Network Rail boss

Ron McAulay, a director for Network Rail in Scotland, is to step down this summer after seven years with the company, during which he oversaw the opening of the Airdrie-Bathgate line.

McAulay, one of two directors representing Scotland on the Network Rail board, said he wanted to spend more time at his home near Inverness. The company said it would consider "how best to fill the role".
