T in the Park review: Jimmy Eat World

NOSTALGIA is in the air.

For people like me in the audience, this band was the soundtrack to a perfect teenhood; meanwhile for the band, who choose most of their set from their early 2000s self titled and 'Futures' albums, it's also a bit of a step back in time.

Kicking off with a double hitter of 'Salt Sweat Sugar' and 'A Praise Chorus', Jimmy (or 'SEE YOU JIMMY' as the man behind me would have it, pretty much constantly, for the hour of their set) are in fine form.

They brave a couple of new songs, but for the main part keep it strictly to their most known work.

Centering their set on the elegant '23' from Futures, they take the slower number as a bit of a breather

before kicking back in. As preppy and poppy as ever, they're just the right act to see as the sun starts to slip in the sky; something to give us a bit of bounce back after a rainy afternoon and a dip from

too much alcohol and sugar.

See you, Jimmy - you're no bad.
