Coronation Street gets HD treatment

CORONATION Street fans will be able to see every bubble in a pint of Newton & Ridley best bitter after ITV1 announced the programme is to be screened in high definition. Some of the sets have been spruced up to bring them up to scratch.

The soap, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will be given the warts-and-all treatment from 31 May when it will be shown on the ITV1 HD channel.
