Those living in the local areas have been warned to expect possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers.

During the weather warning being in place delays or cancellations to rail and air travel are possible and some rural communities could become cut off.

Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

The weather is expected as Storm Christoph sweeps across the UK with many Scots bracing for multiple hazards in the next few days as Scotland is battered with snow and rain from two different directions.
