Whitney tells fans, 'I feel great' after health scare

SINGER Whitney Houston has declared she is "feeling great" as she arrived in the UK on her world tour.

The entertainer was forced to postpone temporarily three concerts at the start of the UK leg of the tour, including a date in Glasgow.

The 46-year-old was diagnosed by doctors in Paris with an upper respiratory infection earlier this week.

She said: "I'm feeling great, I'm just ready to move on and continue my world tour."

Houston branded suggestions that she could be on a downward spiral due to drugs "ridiculous".

She said: "At this point, I just don't respond.

I'm doing what I love to do, which is singing.

"The best part is seeing all of my fans around the world."

Houston was due to take to the stage at the Manchester Evening News Arena this week, before a performance at the SECC in Glasgow on Sunday.

The dates have been rescheduled and the star's UK tour is now set to start at the Birmingham LG Arena next Tuesday.

The Glasgow concert has been rescheduled for 1 May, while the Manchester dates will take place at the end of the tour on 16 and 17 June.

Concert promoters Marshall Arts have asked ticket-holders for the Manchester and Glasgow performances to retain their tickets, which will be valid. Those unable to make the rescheduled shows should apply to their point of ticket purchase for a refund.
