Michelle Mone announces divorce on Twitter

SCOTTISH businesswoman Michelle Mone has announced her divorce on Twitter.

Ms Mone, founder of lingerie firm Ultimo, took to the social networking site to make the announcement after her lawyer had contacted her to break the news.

“Wow. My design meeting was interrupted by my lawyer Tony Caplan. I am now officially divorced. Drinks on me.”

The 41-year-old split from husband Michael in 2011 amid allegations that he had engaged in an affair with an Ultimo colleague. He severed ties with the company in February.

The couple were married for 20 years, and have three children.
