Jenny Douglas fretting over Lloyd Webber approval

SINGER Jenny Douglas has revealed she feels she still has some way to go to convince Andrew Lloyd Webber she could be Dorothy in his production of The Wizard of Oz.

The BBC Over the Rainbow hopeful said that although the music legend has praised her during the first two weeks of the show, she is concerned about his approval.

The former Tynecastle High student, 18, said: "I think he is still a bit unsure of me.

"But I am going to try to turn him around."

Now the 11 original Dorothy hopefuls have become nine, Jenny will sing for survival in tonight's show, desperate to secure a place in the next round.

Last week she sang an emotional version of Songbird which Lord Lloyd Webber told her was "pitch perfect", but she has revealed tonight's performance will be "totally different" and "very tough" to sing.

The South Queensferry singer said she is very aware each week could be her last and goes on stage willing to give every performance her all.

She said: "But it really doesn't matter if you are good, it's all about the public vote and if they do not like you, you could be out.

"I hope people see me as just a normal person, a regular wee lassie.

"There are so many girls like me, particularly at my college – I am doing it for the team!"
