BAFTA stars shine despite the damp

STARS were greeted by a soggy red carpet as they arrived for last night's TV Baftas.

The balmy weekend gave way to light showers minutes before actors began arriving, and onlookers briefly displayed a sea of colourful umbrellas. But the sun again shone in time for the ceremony's start.

A Doctor Who-style Tardis was also transported on to the red carpet, and at one point ceremony host Graham Norton, wearing a black sequinned jacket, burst out of it while filming.
