A battalion of walkers all equipped with wireless headphones, follow Guru Dudu’s fluorescent pink and yellow Lycra across Edinburgh’s bustling town centre.

With the voice of their Australian motivator talking to them through their headsets, the eighty-strong crowd dance their way through the streets from Grassmarket to Waverley Bridge by way of the Princes Street Gardens.

Onlookers can’t help but to enviously stop and stare as the class claps, laughs and cheers in time with the beat.

Visitors of all ages surge across the Old Town’s cobbles and weave their way in and out of picnickers and sunbathers in the summer sun, all grooving to the Guru’s hand-selected mixtape of 70s, 80s and 90s hits.

The Guru said, buoyantly: “It’s just so much fun. Once you put your headphones on you go into a little transported world where we’re all in it together.

“And people get a shock how uninhibited they become really quickly. It’s all about letting loose, living free, and having fun,” he added.

With most shows sold out now, Guru Dudu will be back at the Fringe next year to continue the party, likely with a fellow Guru so more people can silently groove than ever before after his unprecedented success at this year’s Festival Fringe.
