Theatre review: The Ones
This tale of a thwarted electronic love affair between a girl in New York and a guy in London takes place through text messages, Skype calls and emails.

Scrolling back and forth through time, the romance flounders when the couple meet in real life.
There are some touching moments, which talk about loneliness and the need to connect.
But the disjointed inarticulacy of the dialogue does not really work, the story is too insubstantial and the characters not sufficiently developed. The extracts from Shakespeare and Pushkin only serve to remind us there are better ways to express emotion.
