Theatre review: The Allergic Audience

Barbara and Pandora are two older ladies of the local amateur dramatic society whose audience has deserted them and who are reduced to bickering, developing a very genteel odd couple relationship.

Star rating: **

Venue: Arthur Conan Doyle Centre (Venue 290)

Joan Greening’s script is gently amusing, sure to appeal to Archers listeners.

The capable double act of Julia Munrow and Julia Rufey are done no favours, though, by an echoing room which deadens their delivery.

Until 19 August. Today 6pm.
