T in the Park campsite brawl video to be investigated by police

FOOTAGE that shows several men throwing punches at each other in the T in the Park campsite is to be investigated by police.

The 10-second clip shows several men in their late teens or early 20s fighting just two hours after the Strathallan site opened on Thursday.

A police spokesman told the Daily Record: “We have been made aware of the video and are making inquiries.”

Originally posted on Facebook, the video shows one man hit another with a red sledge, which triggers others to jump in.

More than half a dozen male festivalgoers are seen getting into the fight as onlookers crowd round, some of them screaming.

The Stone Roses are expected to take to the stage later today to headline the festival’s first proper opening night.

The Manchester band, which has released new material for the first time in 21 years, will play the main stage at Strathallan Castle in Perthshire.

Jamie XX, Disclosure and Courteeners will also play on Friday, before Calvin Harris and the Red Hot Chili Peppers headline the weekend nights.
