What sort of pupil were you? I’d like to make a public apology to my maths teacher, Mr Davies, for the nightmare I was in class. I blame the teenage hormones.

Were your school days the best days of your life? No. To anyone miserable in school right now, hang on in there, the weird kids rule in the end.

What was your first job? Making coffee in a converted police box.

Your most unusual job? Waiter at an all you can DRINK restaurant. It was messy.

My biggest achievement so far has been... managing to do the job I daydreamed about as a kid.

Three words that sum up my personality are... extrovert, introvert, beard.

Three places in Edinburgh I could not live without are... Bristo Square, Bristo Square, Bristo Square - I’m quite keen on skateboarding.

Who is your best friend? Adrian Westaway – now a mad inventor/incredibly talented designer. He’s been my best mate since we were 11 and he made a hanky disappear. It totally blew my mind.

If you could bring one show to Edinburgh what would it be? Monty Python Live At The Hollywood Bowl.

Name one item you not live without? My head.

By what ethos do you live your life? There’s rarely a reason not to be kind to people and to work really hard at doing whatever it is you want to do the most.
