Scotsman Photo Competition: Sylvia Beaumont wins March prize

Congratulations to Sylvia Beaumont, who has won March’s Scotsman Photo Competition with this picture of her Basset Hound sisters, Lucie and Lottie, enjoying the March sunshine by the sea at North Berwick.

Her effort was picked out by The Scotsman picture editor from hundreds of efforts, and Sylvia says that when she is out walking them, people often stop to chat to them and say how full of character they are.

Sylvia’s prize for winning is an Acme Made Union Photo Messenger - a stylish messenger bag for the photographer around town.

The runners-up are Dr Dennis Connolly for his atmospheric shot of dusk at Craigmillar Castle with the moon in the background, and Ian Campbell’s delightful picture of the frog he found in his garden (published in The Scotsman today).

There is no cash alternative. As part of the competition terms, you are consenting to Scotsman Publications using your photograph in paper and online at no charge.
