Rod Stewart announces Glasgow Hydro date on UK tour

ROD Stewart will return to the SSE Hydro in December after playing the concert that heralded the opening of Glasgow's flagship music arena in 2013.

The 71-year-old’s tour, From Gasoline Alley to Another Country Hits 2016, will include a date at the 13,000-capacity venue scheduled for December 13.

The string of UK shows will support Stewart’s 29th album, Another Country, released in October last year.

Ticket will go on sale at 9am on Friday 5 February and will be made available on the venue website or by calling 0844 395 4000.

Announcing the tour, Stewart said: “What a great line-up of venues. These are some of my favourite buildings in my favourite cities. I give you fair warning – fasten your seat belts. I’m pulling out all the stops!”

Stewart is already scheduled to play additional Scottish dates in Kilmarnock and Inverness, on 17 and 18 June respectively
