Rae, a drop of golden music fun

REMEMBER Jesse Rae, he of the kilt and helmet who appeared brandishing a claymore atop a New York skyscraper in the video for his 1985 single Over The Sea? Yes? Well, there are not one, but two rare chances to see him in Edinburgh this weekend when he plays the Voodoo Rooms on Sunday.

“Jesse Rae’s Live Music Video Show is a bit o’ border reiv’n wi’ the Funk,” explains the singer, adding that the evening features musicians Bernie Worrell, Michael Hampton, Steve Jordan Tackhead and the P Funk Mob.

A work in progress for The World’s First Music Video Book: Jesse Rae - The Truth Is Unbelievable,’ which will be out in 2012, Rae says, “I call it, my Aye Pad. Using the frontier of technology and pioneering software to produce a full interactive entertainment along with the ‘Rae Formula’ to making music videos.”
