Hi, we’re back. You might have noticed that we were a little quiet over the past couple of weeks as we took a little holiday. You might also notice things looking a little different around here. So if a change is as good as a rest, and we’ve had a change and a rest, we must be looking pretty good.

Apologies for what we’ve missed in the down time (we weren’t ignoring your emails, just being a bit lazy), but for now let’s crack on with the Radar Weekly.

• The line-up for the BBC Introducing Stage at this year’s T in the Park was announced today and it’s looking good. Among the Scottish acts this year are Fatherson, Hector Bizerk, Nina Nesbitt, United Fruit, Woodenbox, Admiral Fallow, Laki Mera, Miaoux Miaoux, and Vigo Thieves. You can see the full line-up on the BBC website.

• Keep an eye out tomorrow night as the winner of the inaugural Scottish Album of the Year award will be announced. From such a strong shortlist it’s impossible to tell how this one will go. We wait with bated breath.

• Promoters Cry Parrot and Tracer Trails are teaming up for a second year of their independent festival, this year renamed Music Language Festival 2012. It’ll take place on September 1 and 2 at various venues in Glasgow, and early-bird tickets are just £8.

On the bill are Aggi Doom, Conquering Animal Sound, Dam Mantle, Happy Particles, Hector Bizerk, Mother Ganga, Mussel Memory, Okishima Island Tourist Association, Organs of Love, Palms, Richard Youngs & Luke Fowler, Robbie Thomson, Sacred Paws, Seppuku, Silk Cut, Soosh, The Modern Institute, The Rosy Crucifixion, Tut Vu Vu and Undulating Gland.

Detour launched their new monthly show for Scottish music - which you can watch on their website, if you haven’t already!

• And Otherpeople played their final show in Bloc on Saturday - a sweaty, jumpy crowd singing along to all the right bits and just generally giving them a good send off.
