Preview: Calvin Harris, T in the Park

SCOTLAND’S Calvin Harris must feel he can do no wrong right now.

As well as topping charts everywhere with his signature disco anthems, the Dumfries dance guru is also one of the most in-demand producers on the planet, having created hits for Madonna, Rihanna, Kylie and Cheryl Cole, among others.

The UK’s most successful songwriter of 2011, edging out Adele and Ed Sheeran, Harris last took T in the Park’s Main Stage by storm in 2009 - and he’s set to repeat the trick on Saturday.

“T in the Park is the best gig of the year,” he says ahead of his appearance at Scotland’s biggest music festival. “Scottish people make it that way and I love it here.

“It feels like home when I play at T in the Park,” he adds.

As well as his much-anticipated visit to Balado this weekend, Harris has a number of other festival shows lined-up this summer - including Wireless, Creamfields and Wakestock and he’ll also open for dance titans Swedish House Mafia at their Milton Keynes Bowl show on July 14.
