Potter pupil Katie launches caring art contest

HARRY Potter star Katie Leung has launched a children's charity art competition aimed at encouraging school pupils across the Lothians to use their skills over the October holidays.

The Scottish actress, who plays Cho Chang, made the call today for pupils from Edinburgh and the Lothians to paint a picture, draw a sketch or create a doodle on the topic of "who cares".

The competition has been launched in schools across the country in aid of the Prince's Trust Scotland. Pupils must submit artwork by mid-November.

It is one of several initiatives from city legal firm Tods Murray in a bid to raise over 20,000 as part of the Lions' Den challenge, which sees five legal firms compete to raise money for the charity while boosting its profile.

The actress's own sketch will be auctioned off on November 28.

Katie, 20, said: "I really hope the children's art competition proves to be a success and schools across Scotland will get involved."
