Pipers try out unique workout plan to help them stay strong

The band’s Craig McInnes, Kiaran Gaughan and Keith Bowes are being put through their paces by personal trainer Loyd Stevenson as part of a programme co-devised by the David Lloyd Club in Renfrew.
Trainers at the club, advised by the National Piping Centre in Glasgow, are creating a “pipers workout programme” to help build strength in the upper body ahead of the demanding piping season.

Hide AdThe programme has been devised to strengthen the body, and in particular the muscles in the neck, shoulder and under arm to enable a longer and less fatigued playing time.
