In pictures: Glasgow art festival launched with inflatable Stonehenge

AN INFLATABLE structure shaped like Stonehenge marked the launch of the an 18-day visual art festival in Glasgow yesterday

The structure, an ‘interactive public artwork’ designed by Turner prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller, heralded the start of the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art.

The artwork, named ‘Sacrilege’ and situated in Glasgow Green, will head to London later this year for the Olympic and Paralympic games in the summer.

The festival will also feature work from Karla Black, who was a Turner Prize nominee in 2011, and Richard Wright, who won the award in 2009.
