Rockets lit up Glasgow Green to the sound of Eye Of The Tiger from the hit film Rocky and the signature tune from the award-winning Chariots Of Fire.

Organisers said around 50,000 people turned out for the 20-minute spectacular this evening.

The crowd was addressed by Commonwealth batonbearers gymnast Cara Kennedy, triple-jumper Morgan McKinnon and swimmer Ruairi Kirkwood.
