This new musical from University of Nottingham students begins promisingly with a quirky premise.

Grace inherits a “clever clock” from her aunt and soon discovers it has some interesting properties she can exploit to her advantage. Add in lively, committed performances from the cast of four, witty lyrics and funny, rubbery dance routines and there are the makings of a cartoony rock’n’roll musical in the irreverent tradition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. But ultimately, Like Clockwork defaults to musical theatre formula.
