Eno, who attended both Ipswich Art School and Winchester School of Art, would go on to work with the likes of David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2, Paul Simon, Grace Jones.

Eno, who will be appearing at the George Square Theatre on 10 May, “said: “I benefited enormously from five years at Art School – in fact I can’t quite imagine how my life might have turned out without it, for, although much of my career has been in music I feel that most of what I learnt about being a composer I learnt there.

“I would like to continue to be involved in this unique educational project with all its unpredictable outcomes and I’m grateful for the chance to do so in Edinburgh.”
