Macaulay stands up to mic

THE STAND’S very own Braveheart, Fred Macaulay takes on compere duties at the York Place comedy club this week, when he checks in for a three-night run, starting tonight.

Having just confirmed his Fringe 2012 run at The Stand, this is an ideal opportunity to experience his second-to-none hosting skills and maybe even get a taste of things to come this August.

Joining Macaulay on the bill will be the unorthodox David Kay with his unique blend of extraordinary observations and ultra-ordinary situations; Pete Cain, who tackles sensitive subjects with a sledgehammer wit; disarming Geordie Barry Dodds and Richard Gadd, winner of the Laughing Penguin New Act 2010.

The Stand, York Place, tonight-Saturday, various prices, 7.30pm, 0131-558 7282
