Local Buzz: Paws, Rod Jones and the Birthday Suit

PAWS

PAWS, a young grunge and lo-fi trio with members hailing from Edinburgh, Inverness and Glasgow, caught our attention at Born To Be Wide’s music business event last spring and they have since gone on to pick up airplay on Radio 1, 6 Music and Radio Scotland.

As well as playing the T Break Stage at T In The Park last summer, the band have opened high-profile gigs for the likes of YUCK! and The Dum Dum Girls.

On Saturday at the Wee Red Bar, PAWS share the bill with some of the best bands in the Capital right now - the highly-rated Edinburgh School For the Deaf, which includes former members of Saint Jude’s Infirmary, Arcade Fire-alikes Broken Records and 2011 Scotsman Radar Prize winners Sebastian Dangerfield.

It’s a line-up that’s simply too good to miss.

Wee Red Bar, Edinburgh College of Art, Lauriston Place, Saturday, 7pm, £6, 0131-229 1442
