Glasgow Hydro and Armadillo go green for St Patrick's Day

THE SSE Hydro and Clyde Auditorium '“ aka the Armadillo '“ concert venues have been illuminated green by Tourism Ireland to celebrate St Patrick's Day today.

Some 190 global landmarks are following suit this year to mark the occasion.

Tourism Ireland estimates St Patrick’s Day promotional activities generate international publicity worth around €10 million (£7.8m), with near saturation media coverage.

In previous years, Edinburgh Castle has been lit up green while iconic monuments around the world including the London Eye and Nelson’s Column, while the fountain at the White House has also been coloured green to mark the day.
