Game review: ScaryGirl

ONE of the great things about the new era of downloadable content is the return of the classic platform game. Based on a series of comic books by Nathan Jurevicius, ScaryGirl looks gorgeous, with a cute goth aesthetic.

Join the eponymous tentacle-armed heroine as she makes her way through a series of dastardly but visually striking levels such as spider-infested caverns. There’s even co-op play so a friend can join the kooky adventure as SG’s rabbit mentor, Bunniguru.

If only they’d spent as much time polishing the gameplay as they did on the visuals. It won’t give Mario or Sonic a run for their money but it’s still a pleasant little time waster.
