HENRY ROLLINS: The upstart leader of Washington DC’s State Of Alert is back with a new spoken word show. Hard-hitting, in-yer-face, side-splitting . . . if you haven’t seen the punk legend live, take this chance. Queen’s Hall, 7pm, £15, 0131-623 3030

• ART

PICASSO AND MODERN BRITISH ART: Picasso remains the 20th century’s single most important artistic figure, and this landmark exhibition is the first to explore the Spaniard’s connections with Old Blighty. There’s more than 120 works on display, including more than 50 paintings by Picasso, as well as works by Henry Moore, David Hockney and Francis Bacon. Scottish National Gallery, 10am-6pm, £10 (£7), 0131-226 0000

• KIDS

THE VELVETEEN RABBIT: This enchanting story of how a toy was loved so much that he became real was a hit at last year’s Fringe. Back for another run, it sees puppetry, poetry and physical theatre combine to bring the classic children’s story to life. Take the little ’uns and sit back and enjoy with them as they laugh, shout, cry and join the adventure. C Eca, 10.45am, £9.50 (£7.50), 0131-623 3030
