Dance review:My Plaice / The LakeC Aquila (venue 21)

Both these works were created by young students from Lincoln, as part of a dance course, so there’s an inevitable sense of two choreographers at the start of their journey. Of the two, Nikki Mclusky is the one to watch.

The Lake features three ballet dancers endlessly attempting to get things right, be it a turned-out knee or perfectly positioned arm. Finding themselves in the corps de ballet of Swan Lake, rivalries rise to the surface in an atmospheric work that shows much potential.
