Children's shows review: Yoggle and the Wonderful Waterfall

A lot of love has gone into this delightful tale of a woolly pompom called Yoggle who goes on a magical voyage to a land where every noun is an opportunity to add an unusual adjective: the 'bong-along bell', the 'flapperty falls', the 'fingerbingle birds'.

Venue: Quaker Meeting House (Venue 40)

The super handmade set is clearly the result of many hours of work, but the young performers are under-rehearsed. Like a bored babysitter, the narrator turns the imaginative imagery into something flat. A woman tells us after that the show has had technical issues and is “almost ready” – but more energy and characterisation from the cast would help.

Until tomorrow. Today 12:40pm.
