Cartoons of the week: September 15-21

IN A BUSY week for news, we saw talks between Alex Salmond and David Cameron over the referendum on Scottish Independence; topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge appeared in a French magazine and John Swinney was attacked by the Unions over his Budget speech of Thursday.

Saturday 15th - Vince Cable is criticised for cosying up to Labour by describing himself as on the ‘centre-left’ and being happy to work with Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls.

Sunday 16th - Our cartoonist wonders whether Alex Salmond may follow in Kate Middleton’s footsteps by being photographed topless.

Monday 17th - Wills and Kate - the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - are depicted in a ‘sea’ of scandal and gossip magazines as the row over the topless photos raged on.

Tuesday 18th - News that Greggs the baker may be set to supply the army with food was met with surprise.

Wednesday 19th - Donald Trump popped up again with an advert condemning Scottish windfarms...except his advert was a picture of Hawaii, and not Scotland.

Thursday 20th - Alex Salmond and David Cameron met for talks over Scottish Independence - and our cartoonist took some inspiration from Scots artist Jack Vettriano.

Friday 21st - John Swinney was branded ‘Osborne in a kilt’ by furious Unions following his Budget speech.
