Blondie to play Scotland gig during 2021 tour - here's how to get tickets

Legendary American rock band Blondie is making a come back next year with its first UK tour in four years – and there’s a gig set for Glasgow.

Iconic frontwoman and songwriter Debbie Harry, guitarist Chris Stein, drummer Clem Burke, and long standing band mates bassist Leigh Foxx, guitarist Tommy Kessler and keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen, have just announced their ten date tour for November 2021.

The band will perform to cities across the country including Glasgow, Brighton, London and Birmingham.

Debbie Harry said: “Next year's UK tour is more meaningful to me perhaps than the very first time Blondie played there in the mid '70s.

"The UK has always been a special place to us, and being able to come back to perform there after sitting out most of 2020 is very exciting.”

Joining Blondie is double female-fronted band Garbage led by Shirley Manson, who was invited to induct Blondie into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Garbage has sold more than 17 million albums and many of its own singles are now considered alt-rock classics.

The two bands have toured together before on their highly successful and critically acclaimed “Rage and Rapture” tour of North America in 2017.

Harry added: “Blondie toured with Garbage during 2017 and we look forward to doing it again. We had a wild ride! All tours are rarely the same, however, I really hope the new Blondie/Garbage concert events are even better. I have always been a fan of Garbage (and of Shirley Manson dating back to her days in Goodbye Mr Makenzie). Along with Butch, Steve, Duke and Eric this band set the stage on fire. I can’t wait to play these shows with them!”

The Blondie live show will feature classic hits like 'Heart Of Glass', ‘Atomic', ‘Tide Is High’, ‘Maria’, ‘Sunday Girl’, ‘Rapture’ and 'Call Me' naturally blending with their last studio album Pollinator.

The tour will come to The SSE Hydro, Glasgow on 20 November 2021. Tickets will go on sale 10am, Fri 23 October priced £62.45 - £96.50 (inc. admin fee) and will be available from www.thessehydro.com
