Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro have announced they are to hit the road and go on tour in 2021.

The ‘Fingers Crossed’ tour will take the Kilmarnock band – who are usually more at home playing massive stadium shows and headlining festivals – to some intimate venues, the likes of which they haven’t played for “over 10 years”.

Famous for songs like ‘Many of Horror’ and ‘Mountains’, the three-piece will be calling into Liverpool, London, Cambridge, Sheffield, Southampton, and Bristol.

The full list of ‘Fingers Crossed' tour dates is as follows:

11 April – Liverpool, University (Mountford Hall)

12 April – London, O2 Forum Kentish Town

13 April – Cambridge, Corn Exchange

15 April – Sheffield, O2 Academy

16 April – Southampton, O2 Guildhall

17 April – Bristol, O2 Academy

At the time of the band’s announcement, Biffy Clyro said there would be “big announcements for Scotland… in the coming days.”

In a post shared on Facebook, the band have since confirmed that “details of the forthcoming Glasgow date will be announced very soon”, and future concerts of the A Celebration Of Endings tour will be added “when it is possible to do so.”

The band had a large-scale arena tour planned for 2020 in support of their new album ‘A Celebration of Endings’, but that was cancelled in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The band have said these new dates are not intended to replace the arena tour, “but given the current uncertainty of large scale indoor arena shows in the UK, we feel they will give us the best chance to play live to our fans as soon as possible.”

General on sale tickets for the intimate shows were made available from Friday 21 August at 9am through Ticketmaster.

Unfortunately, with hundreds of fans hoping to see the band in intimate venues, the entire tour sold out "within minutes.”

"We're aware of the disappointment of many fans who were unable secure tickets,” said the band on social media, “but given the current uncertainty of large scale indoor arena shows in the UK, we believe that these smaller shows will give us the best chance to play live to our fans as soon as possible.

"Details of the forthcoming Glasgow date will be announced very soon and future concerts of the 'A Celebration Of Endings' tour will be added when it is possible to do so.”

Where else are Biffy Clyro playing in 2020?

If you'd rather catch Biffy Clyro on a bigger stage, the band have been announced as headlining 2021’s Download Festival.

Biffy replace Iron Maiden (who were due to headline this year) in the Saturday night headline slot, something the KiImarnock band described as "a highlight of the festival calendar."

“We can’t wait to return to headline Download in 2021!" they said. "Headlining in 2017 was special and now it’s time to celebrate again!"

Tickets for the festival were made available on Friday 7 August. They are available through the Download Festival website.
