All in a day’s work

EH1 LIVE is a one-day, all-day music festival that sees more than 50 bands playing in selected venues in the city centre this Sunday.

Sneaky Pete’s, Bannerman’s, Liquid Room, Electric Circus, Studio 24 and The Store is where the action takes place in an event that runs from 2pm to 11pm.

Among the bands are indie favourites The Dykeenies, local lads Jakil (pictured), The Modern Faces, Figure 5 and The Stagger Rats, and two of the participating venues – The Store and Studio 24 – are to break the over-18 age restriction to give a selection of the best under-age bands the opportunity to take part.

“We want this to be one of the highlighted dates in the Scottish music calendar for years to come by making sure this year’s leaves everyone being proud of the great music in Scotland – especially in Edinburgh,” say the organisers.

“We also want people that come along on the day to be introduced to new bands and acts that they might not have heard of before and also to provide support to the ones they do.

“We also want primarily for everyone to go out and have a good day out and wake up with a wee bit of a sore head in the morning.”

Those especially keen on waking up with a hangover can head down to the EH1 Live afterparty at Electric Circus, where the festivities continue into the wee small hours of Monday morning.

EH1 Live, various venues, Sunday, 2pm-11pm, £15 (one ticket gains access to all venues on the day). For full programme details, visit www.eh1live.com
