Among the numerous categories for awards including ‘Scottish Designer of the Year’ and ‘Scottish Textile Brand of the Year’ is a new category entitled ‘Scottish Fashion Photographer of the Year’, aimed at showcasing up-and-coming fashion photographers making their mark in the industry.

For the first time in its seven year history, the awards are open to the public, with a limited number of VIP tickets including a champagne reception, entry to the award ceremony, a VIP gala dinner and admittance to the after party also on sale.

Founder Tessa Hartmann, who will also chair the event, said: “I am really excited to open the award ceremony to the general public for the first time. It’s going to be an incredible show, and most of all the most glamorous red carpet night of the year for Scotland as a nation.

“The world’s eyes are on the Scottish Fashion Awards each and every year and I have no doubt that 2012 will be a night to remember for our heritage, fashion and style. Having Alexa Chung present this year’s proceedings is a wonderful and stylish asset to the brand.”
